Kevin & Heather Graham after running the
KP Corporate Challenge 5K Road Race in Atlanta, GA |
About UsWe started Exact Timing in 2005, because we are both former Collegiate/Post-Collegiate Track& Field/Cross Country athletes and coaches that love the sport! With timing, we get to stay connected without running workouts on the track! However, we still manage to participate in road races and track events every now and then with our family.
We have timed a variety of events in the Southeast, ranging from Collegiate Track & Field Conference Championships to Elementary School 5K's and Fun Runs. We have recently been timing Swimming & Diving and we enjoy that as much as Track & Field, Cross Country and Road Races. |
Heather Atkinson Graham
|
Heather coached collegiate Track &Field (Throwers) for 12-years (Emory University & Georgia State University). During her early years of coaching she became interested in meet management. So, she did some research and taught herself how to use the Hy-Tek and Finish Lynx software/equipment; and in 2002, Exact Timing was created. Heather has recently added and learned IPICO Chip Timing to expand her cross country and road race events. Heather was an All-American and multiple ACC Champion Thrower at the University of Maryland (Track & Field). She currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia, with her husband Kevin, their kids and dog.

IN MEMORY OF DR. ROBERT M. ATKINSON, II (DOC)
April 11, 1943 - January 10, 2017 My father helped me name my business and he bought me my first Finish Lynx camera in 2004. I will always remember my father's advice to calm down and think before freaking out over an issue at an event. Usually, the issue is something silly that I have overlooked. For example, we were at a track meet a few years ago and I could not print results. I didn't know what was going on. My father finally calmly said, "Heather, is the printer plugged in?" Turned out it wasn't. See, stop and think! Thanks Dad! My father passed away from a Stage-4 Glioblastoma Brain Tumor caused by exposure to Agent Orange in the Vietnam War. My father's former Exact Timing bio is below... Dr. Robert M. Atkinson, II (Doc) Tech Support, Track & Field Finish Line Official and Cross Country/Road Race Timer Doc is Heather's father and a retired college professor with PhD's from Carnegie Mellon University and Washington University (St. Louis). He taught at the University of Illinois, Florida A&M University and Carnegie Mellon University. He played Basketball and Track & Field as an under-graduate student-athlete at Iowa State University. His Track & Field events were Hurdles, Discus and Javelin. In High School, he set the Iowa State Record for the Football Throw. |
